A Few Tips for Submitting Your Press Release

The ideal press release should be relevant to the content of and must not have been previously published. Thereafter, we will review articles that:

  • Grab the attention
  • Are likely to appeal to our website visitors – the healthcare industry
  • Are topical (please, no opinion pieces)
  • Offer a solution to a common problem in the healthcare industry

Any facts that are included in your press release should be justified or should be accompanied by examples to support what you have written.

Note that corporate announcements related to fund raising, staff appointments, or startup awards are not likely to be interesting to healthcare professionals.

Journalistic Standards

The HIPAA Journal adheres to the code of ethics of the Society of Professional Journalists, and high journalistic standards are maintained at all times. In order for any article to be included, it must be accurate, honest and should not distort the truth. It must be written to inform the public and should provide a full and comprehensive account of an event or relevant story.
